Finally, after 7 years, played this game on tabletop simulator. It’s actually pretty fun if you like Pokémon and are fine with the game being unfair.

Story time: I actually still have a legitimate egg from the OG Ranger. In the early 2010s, I was a mad shiny hunter. Eventually, I decided to buy a second-hand copy of Pokémon Ranger with the full intention of needing to “illegitimately” wipe the cartridge, play through, and get my egg. I started thinking I would even buy the other Ranger games and cheat the events for the eggs there too - giving me three eggs total to hunt. It felt legitimate enough to me to play through three games for the chance to hunt Manaphy but, to my surprise, the OG ranger I bought never had its egg claimed. I had bought it off eBay from an account that was just selling some general things like clothes. I could only assume it was a person or parent who was just clearing things that were no longer in use or being played, so extremely unlikely that it had previously been claimed and the game wiped. I was blown away. After playing the game and grabbing the egg, I just didn’t know what to do. I now had a legitimate egg - a chance for a completely legitimate shiny Manaphy that no one could argue otherwise - and I have done nothing with it. The hunt with one egg is too daunting, but lumping it with semi-legitimate eggs just feels wrong. As an adult now, I have responsibilities at home and a job that often takes me away where the days are long - leaving me to double down to get things back on track at home again when I return - a vicious cycle. I still shiny hunt occasionally, albeit in the newest games with the shiny charm. But I always remember that egg sitting there, waiting. Maybe one day I’ll hunt Manaphy. I look forward to a time that seems possible.

Honey tree munchlax from D/P/Pt, manaphy ranger egg, wynaut mirage island, mew from emerald event, deoxys from gen 3 event and the gen 4 legendaries/mythicals from events are all shinies that took a lot of effort, but I'm so happy I got them all. If I had to do them all today, I might not have started a shijy living dex, but these lines of code are really special to have.

Dexter, jigsaw and yugi don't have much in common. Dexter was a straight up serial killer Jigsaw pushed people to the edge to see what they were willing to do to survive. Yugi played sadistic games where one would die if lost or cheated. They really don't have much in common other than dead people around them. Motives and death causes are completely as well as intentions

no context but when i was younger i made a weird hitlist for eeveelutions and whenever i got a shiny i would cross out which eeveelution that was like some kind of serial killer

Thing is, hardest shiny hunt and hardest shiny pokemon hunt are not the same. This might be the hardest shiny pokemon to hunt, but i‘d argue the shiny lendary hats are alot harder to hunt

I do not consider this a challenge.. You can do this with every pokemon to just sweep the game.. It would probably be harder to play the game with all moves, but without al the items and candy.

I guess spinda is the new hardest to get shiny
